Great birthday present from Annette - Markal paintstiks. I've been wanting to try these for a long time. Here are some very hurried dabbles on calico and denim - they have worked well on both and are in the drying stage now. My experimentations will be good for using as backgrounds for postcards and ATCs - I am hoping to join in more of the swaps that I organise - too much on during 2010 - maybe there will be more time in 2011.

Markal Painstiks
Lovely Jubbly present from our friends Annette and Andy - some Markal paintstiks. I've gathered some fabric together this morning and will have a dabble this afternoon. They need 3-5 days to dry and then they can be stitched on. There are so many uses for these I don't know where to start !

Thank you Julie!
For the info on the paintsticks...I think I'll look around for some and put them on my Christmas list. They do sound like my sort of thing - I don't mind messy!

Designer Bag by Jon
This lovely bag is a Christmas gift given to me by my son Jon when he was in Year 7 (age 12). It is beautifully made, the design is paintsticks on calico and it is machine and hand quilted, with button embellishments. It's been hung on the wall for 5 years, but I'm very proud of it and I think I will start using it to keep things in for my quilting classes.
