A few days ago I put the studying on the back burner and spent some time familiarising myself with my Janome Horizon. So many stitches and you don't always get a clear idea of how they stitch out from the diagrams. I cut up some calico into squares and threaded up with all sorts of odds and ends of thread which have been hanging around for longer than I care to remember - some of them might even be older than me...........well that's a bit of a long shot, but there'll definitely be some over 20 years. Double thickness calico and off I went. There's quite a lot more than I stitched out but time ran out and I've picked out lots of favourites I'd like to integrate into future projects. The stitch quality is amazing and with some care and attention to proper stabilising of fabric before stitching these are going to look fantasic and enhance whatever they are used on.

Lynne, I "know" you from the Janome 7700 Yahoo group---thanks SO much for doing one of these samplers and posting about it on your blog. I need to do the same thing with my new 7700. You've given me the impetus to get it done! By the way, did you stabilize your fabric before stitching?

I didn't stabilise it's two layers of medium weight calico (muslin). It would have looked better if I had though it's the scanner that has picked up the shadows and they don't really show that much in real life. I also want to try out the hand look stitches on a sampler with invisible thread in the top and thread in the bottom and see how they look.
Hi - read your post on 7700 list - I did exactly the same and ou can see my photos in my album on the list though I sewd the edges of the squares to form a "book".
This is a great machine and the pitures are great too.
