I replied to a Freecycle post last night for a sewing table with built in lift and four drawers. By this afternoon I thought it must have gone, but no, an email arrived this evening and I now have it in use in the dining room.
It's not particularly beautiful and it's probably nearly as old as I am but it's comfy and convenient to work at. I'm hoping it will make machine quilting of large quilts much easier than my present arrangement. More on than later when I've got another big one ready.
The platform drops so you can use it as a flat bed, then when you've finished the machine drops right down into the cabinet out of sight. The drawers are pretty spacious so most of my stuff should fit in there.
