I bought Beate Knappe's Embellisher Workshop click here to see It's a good starter kit for the absolute beginner. There's a CD with info and projects and also included are rainbow wool tops and some buttons and other bits and pieces so you can make some finished projects. I'm looking forward to her producing a more advanced Workshop, she does great work. Take a look at Beate's Fabric Art blog
